I just thought people would think this was cool, but there are more than 10 different prototypes discovered for the 1992 sonic game, Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The list goes from here:Cool!
- Nick Arcade prototype. This prototype is so early that it uses alot of material from Sonic 1. Named for being simular to the version seen in the gameshow Nick Arcade in 1992.
- Simon Wai prototype. Alot more fleshed out, but is still considered an Early Alpha build. Named after the person who discovered it in 1998, Simon Wai.
- August 21, 1992. Alpha build made in an unstable development stage, but is more complete.
- September 14, 1992. A late alpha (or pre-beta) featuring elements in some pre-release footage.
- CENSOR prototype. The earliest beta from September 15-16, 1992. Named after the group who leaked it, ‘CENSOR’.
- Betas 4 - 8. Beta builds that lasted the last two weeks of development. These include:
-Beta 4. A Beta from September 18, 1992.

Except, there were two versions released.
